The DiMarzio HS-series pickups are the best thing to happen to the stratocaster since its invention. I don't know why Fender doesn't just put stacked humbuckers in all their strats. I mean, that single coil noise has been a pain for decades. They can offer the old pickups as some sort of "vintage retro" pickup or something like that for neurotic people who think the original ones sound better. They could even charge more for the originals and people will probably pay it.
At our local music shop we have this already for years...... combinations of different pickups and setups swappable in a second on a custom guitar where you can slide them in from the side.
Beautiful Strat.
@FCValle Might be specify to this model, as it seems to be more of an Yngwie sets, which Yngwie himself only uses the bridge and neck pickups alone. The 61/67/58 set should have a 5 way switch if I remember correctly...
his guitar has a pretty cool sustain :) I like it much
Would be great if you did a review on EMG's SRO ST-11 set.
Did I get it right? This pickguard is simular to the Seymour Duncan YJM set?
Kinda forgot about the bridge ground.
It's about friggin time someone did something like this... now all we need is pickups with an actual kick ass tone an we're golden ... yeah, I'll be soldering the rest of my days won't I? ;-)
@Panchee123 yes they are. that's what we all need.
@TheMetalHeaD256 Emg isn't the only one that makes these sets. Besides, DiMarzio's D-Activator and Crunch Lab pick ups blow every EMG out of the water.
@alvicious
Me think the pick ups is HS3s stacked humbuckers.
@xPsuedo Are you saying that mini humbuckers are the equivalent of P90`s? and humbuckers are the equivalent to singles in tone?
Seymour Duncan Fury set have better cleans. Dimarzio set handles gain better. But they similar enough to play whatever you want. I guess the final test would be which set handles effects better.
Did your heard some cleans ?
Is this pickguard still avalible ? But with a 5 way switch.
what are those capacitors above the tone pots for?
did DiMarzio feel beaten by EMG or something? cause EMG comes out with all these pre-wired pickguards about a year ago, and now DiMarzio with these.
still cool anyway. i'd love to try both brands.
Yes but does Dimarzio make an H-S-S model ?
What’s the cost of the. Hs3 assembly pickguard
am i a geek for wanting that dimarzio screwdriver just cuz?
@FCValle It was a custom set so you are in no way forced to pick that one with a 3-way. All the other sets has a 5-way switch. You must, i hope, realize they wouldnt try to make profit retrofitting with a 3-way switch.
What amp was that?
Anyone know how to install the andy Timmons model?
Yes
Paul looks awesome with a beard.
@FCValle why not just install a 5 way switch then?
sounds good but why so expensive
I think Ive had an aneurysm, I'm almost sure I saw hot rails but then it jumped to single coils
@rickyjshiznit It does suck but you could always be old school and try find the sweet spot between the 1 and 2, and 2 and 3.
john norum 1984 sound! ... wings of tomorrow .
hola, me podrias enseñar como montar el pickguard de malmsteen? saludos
@alvicious Humbucker single??
@FCValle only the Yngwie has the 3 way...
@Jomoko123 it's silent, like "salmon" - usually pronounced "SAmon" - isn't it?
And WHY is it no longer called the Yngwie model pickup?? b/c Yngwie is now using Seymour Duncan:P lol
no ground?
@FCValle what happened to keeping it simple?
@richogem a 3 way switch in a strat is basically robbing you of 2 more tones you could have. how is a 5 way switch not simple?
@FCValle i think i know why they didn't put a 5 way switch,'cuz they think the only point of "in between" positions is to cancel hum,and since they say that these are hum canceling pups they just decided to eliminate them...and probably 'cuz it's easier to mount.
Well that is way easier then changing all the pickups.Its not that big deal but it kinda makes your life easier.
@MrNeosantana its not gone to waste he has a great job at GW xD
@summitthescale Depends what sound you're going for...
The third terminal is for bridge grounding. Know what you are trying to sell!
@Krumboltz Man,you keyboard tough guys sure are impressive.Go tell him to his face.
@MrNeosantana he'll probably be heard more on here than anywhere else, talented musicians are ignored all the time, thats how the music industry works!
@aneyekay1 . . . .well . . yeah!!!
New sound in minutes and an empty wallet in seconds.
a Dimarzio screwdriver?
i wonder if that screwdriver has "tone"
@FCValle Apparently Yngwie made it work.
man, a 3 way switch?
I don't like it anymore.Starts must have a 5 way switch, each tone is unique and awesome.Specially with u r using single coils.
@freiture
Beards are awesome.
@FCValle
If that is how Yngwie wants it, that's how he'll get it!
why not wireless?
I just want one with a single humbucker.
I didn't know that ricky plays Guitar!
@xPsuedo All of the best music is the world has been recorded with the Seymour Duncan Blackout EMTY pickup. There can be no argument. John McLaughlin's use of it on "Eruption" is nothing short of amazing.
@Ningirsutyr Regardless....... it's SOLDER, how hard can it be to say for gods sake ? It's just lazy to be honest.
@jayou812a but you have to think, mo' money mo' problems.
@FCValle I barely, barely understood what you were trying to say.
are you drunk?
but I agree.
i just reolised thers no earth wire
@joeyrotten101 Sad, but true
thats not hs3
i had to makee that "...." comment to make sure no one would say "first" xD
looked this up on google, $239!!!! I bought a high end EMG and it was only $100, and it sounds loads better than this, so if you want a better tone AND to save money just check out EMG
@bigbiggedybigman You do realize he's using a pick right?
Paul can really play, it's sad to see his talent go to waste.
@AraGuitar No, the only people I hear saying 'Sodder' are Americans, everyone else pronounces the L.
@TDMarshall1 Reeeeeeeaaaaaally ?
Take no notice my friend, not all Brits are like that, I apologise on behalf of my countrymen. But in the same breadth, not all Brits come from London and say "awright" and I'm so sorry I was born and have a family I love in a little corner of the world. Good demo and I'm interested in fitting one of these to a guitar. i'll stick to that for the honour of my country and the other 62.4 million people that are crammed in it. Idiots are all over the globe, so is youtube, not just 'you brits' please
@alvicious HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY Shit.... maybe ?
Anyone notice the choppy sound? (Paul's voice) Kinda like it's dubbed over.
@innerblades Its the shitty noisegate they use - watch some of Jeff loomis' stuff for guitar world, its worse
Seymour Duncan for the win
@joeyrotten101 But nobody gets to hear him for real, on a record.
Would people stop saying 'sodder'? It's Solder. With and L.
*an
.....
@InsaneShredFury I'm sorry but I find it ironic that people bash on Americans after having watched a review prepared by Americans. Besides, if one looks at the cultural diffusion effect, it's evident that the wide use of English in the contemporary world is a work of American manufacturing of technological and cultural values rather than the work of the English. All I'm saying is that the English should be happy rather than arrogant that Americans talk the same language as them..
or just buy strat and have one ;)
....
So pricey xD
Roadhouse...
... blargh...
time to shave, paul...
.... there is something about Paul's style of playing that i dont like... like he actually plays well but the way he plays physically looks like it shouldnt be as good as it is haha
@liambarker12 True..... way to bastardise my language Americans
It's got a built in digital delay?
I can't believe you spent money on a "road worn" guitar.
That Picking noise annoys me.
Seriously?? A bunch of Brits whining about American's not pronouncing the "L" in a word?? How about "alright"?? Sorry, you Brits might recognize it better as "awright." Every different accent pronounces things differently - it is only the people who've never left their little corner of the world who don't recognize that.
I didn't like the distorsion :/
@WalrusDoom seriously? anyone who argues a type of pickup is better than another is an idiot. everyone has their own taste in tone, and also, you cant just generalize that humbuckers are better than single coils, or p90s are better than a humbucker. if i made you close your eyes and listen to a humbucker and single coil that happened to sound exactly the same, what would u say then?
Dude. Shave!
i think to play the riffs like he does is complicated, but it sounds always horrible!
